So we're three weeks into our 10 week tour. Things have been so good and we are running strong! We kicked off with two days at the Decatur Book Festival. Then had two gigs in Nashville where I got to catch up with friends that I haven't seen in at least 15 years. From there hopped over to Southern Illinois where I performed for 400 students! Caught up with friends in Kansas City. Hit the Kansas Book Festival, then headed to my hometown of Hutchinson, KS. Lucky for me the Kansas State Fair was happening so I got to indulge in some fun memories from my childhood. Then hopped the western border over to Colorado for three gigs and time catching up with friends. Saw my first snow for the trip, rode an old coal train, and spent lots of time exploring the mountains. Leaving Colorado I camped on the canyon's edge for a night. Woke up and drove through the lands where dinosaurs once roamed in Utah. Made my way up to the Grand Tetons where I hiked around Jenny Lake. Cruised on up to Yellowstone where I fell in love with all the bubbling geysers, so much so that I didn't make it to campsite until really late. Woke up in Montana and had a great visit with 140 first graders. Said goodbye to Montana and drove all day to get to Seattle where we've teamed up with Dan, the writer of Free Rain. We only have one gig here, so it's allowed me some time to rest a bit and catch up on some "office" work.

I'll touch base again after I wrap up with the next couple weeks in Oregon and California. Thanks for following my time on the road!
